"Dear God Bless all the missionaries today." Have you ever caught yourself saying a general prayer like this one? Since missionaries live thousands of miles away and personal contact is limited, it's not easy praying specifically for them. Do missionaries really need your prayer support? Don't forget that missionaries are real people who daily face an array of emotions, frustrations, and challenges brought on by living in a foreign culture. Add to the equation that missionaries are called people who are set apart by God to daily share the gospel in enemy territory. As they spend day after day on the "front lines," Satan plots to hinder their progress and effectiveness. With these thoughts in mind, consider implementing the following daily prayer plan as you pray for the missionaries that God has placed in your life. Monday - Money Not that I speak in respect of want; for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound; every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Phillippians 4:11-13 Pray for the Missionaries support needs and their personal stewardship.   Tuesday - Team Members Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, tender mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, longsuffering; Forebearing one another, forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any, even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness. Colossians 3:12-14 Pray for the Missionaries relationships with field and home office leaders. Pray for the Missionaries relationship with national workers.   Wednesday - Witness But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8 Pray for the Missionaries boldness to proclaim the Gospel, for open doors of opportunity to Minister. Pray for the Missionaries ability to make a clear presentation of the Gospel and for a rapid spread of the Good News.   Thursday - Temptation Be sober, be vigilant; because your advasary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8 Pray for the Missionaries to avoid the temptation of developing wrong attitudes and motivations. Pray that they will withstand the temptation to become inactive and give up and pray for their purity.   Friday - Family Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husband, as unto the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it. Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Ephesians 5:22-25;6:1 Pray for the Missionaries marriage, children, and relatives in the United States.   Saturday - Safety But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of mine head. Psalm 3:3 Pray for the Missionaries travel and health.   Sunday - Spiritual Disciplines The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
