Camp Nurse

Word of Life is a Christian Camp Ministry located in upstate New York and Florida with thousands of young people coming annually to its camp facilities. Many of these young people are hearing the Gospel for the first time! For many of them this is their first time at camp as well. With this in mind our Summer Camp Health Center strives to serve campers and staff with excellent, quality, efficient, and professional care.

What can be expected: Word of Life is a youth camp; therefore it is an energetic, exciting and expanding camp with hundreds of opportunities to meet the physical and spiritual needs of campers from around the world! Teamwork, professionalism, caring, quality, fun, spiritually focused and exciting are some of the words describing the camp and workplace at Word of Life! What will I be doing:Duties include but may not be limited to: Camper and staff assessments, first aid, medication administration, documentation, health record review, rotate on call, daily shift report, communication with parents, health center coordinator and camp director.

What is required: Word of Life is hiring summer and winter camp seasonal Registered Nurses. Experience and training is essential. Please be prepared to share with us your experience and training records. It is our desire to have health center staff stay for the entire summer, but we do allow for shorter employment status with a two-week minimum. If you are not a New York State Registered Nurse, we will help with the certification paperwork. During the winter we operate Friday through Sunday, January through March. During the summer dates range from June to August and camp is a full week.
