Mirko Delibasich was saved through the testimonies of his brother and
a good friend, who were saved at the Word of Life Camp in Argentina. At that time, age 23, Mirko was a very confused young man, mixed up in drugs and alcohol. After camp, his brother and friend shared the Gospel with Mirko and he accepted Christ as his
Savior. Six months after his conversion he began studying at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Argentina where he studied for the next four years. It was there that he met his wife Traci.
Traci was born and raised in a Christian family in the Panama Canal Zone. She received Christ at the age of six and every two years her family would attend the Word of Life Camp in Schroon Lake, NY. It was there that she dedicated her life to God at the campfire and always prayed that one day Word of Life would begin a ministry in Panama. After high school, Traci attended the Word of Life Bible Institute in New York and then graduated from Cedarville College with a degree in Physical Education. In 1987, she went as a short-term missionary to Word of Life Argentina, where she learned Spanish, took more Bible classes and met her husband. Mirko, Traci and Caleb, their oldest child, arrived in Panama to begin the Word of Life ministry in April of 1992. Presently Mirko is the director of Word of Life Panama and they have three children,
Caleb, Rachel and Natasha.(

Frank
and Silvia Saavedra are from Costa Rica. Frank was saved in 1987 after living a life far from God and trying
to find fulfillment in sports and vices. In 1990 he married Silvia and
together they traveled to Argentina to study at Word of Life Bible
Institute where they studied for four years. They returned to Costa Rica as
missionaries with Word of Life and began working with the children's
ministries.
Silvia was born into a Christian home but it wasn't until she was in high
school that she realized that she did not have a personal relationship with
Jesus Christ. She was afraid of death and being alone. So it was that
in 1983 she accepted Jesus as her savior after visiting a Christian
teen group.
In 2000 the Lord led them to Panama to begin children's ministries.
They have two children, Debora and Daniel.(

Onan Gomez was born into a home where his parents were separated but he was
taught good morals from his mother and attended a catholic school as a
child. When he was 13 years old he became rebellious and got mixed
up with bad friends, but God led a man into his life at age 14 who visited
him and his family, witnessed to them and invited them to a crusade.
One night Onan went and heard about hell and the wages of sin. That
night, alone in his room, Onan asked Jesus to forgive him of his sins and
come into his heart. After high school he attended Word of Life Bible Institute in
Argentina where he graduated in 2001 and then he returned to Panama to join the staff in reaching his
country for Christ. Onan is involved in discipleship and Bible Clubs.
Eduardo Fernandez was born in
a Christian home in Argentina. Before receiving Christ as his personal
Savior he believed, like many, that his salvation was obtained because he
was born into a Christian family, went to church, and was good. One
day, God in his mercy, showed me that I needed to receiving Christ was a
personal decision. After church one Sunday in 1974, he made that decision
and from that moment on he knew that he was a part of God's family, not
because of what he had done or could do but because of what Christ had done
for him on the cross. In 1984, after realizing that he could not live
a life that pleased God in his own strength, he dedicated his life to the
Lord for His glory. When he was 20 yrs. old, Eduardo attended a Word
of Life camp for the first time where he was challenged with the Word of God
to grow in the knowledge of his Savior and His Word. He became a
student of Word of Life Bible Institute and there met his wife Clarita.
They were married after graduating and now have 3 children, Evelyn, Braiam y
Dana. In 1991 they became a part of the Word of Life staff in
Argentina, working in maintenance as well as counseling students, doing
short term mission trips, and evangelistic training. In 2001
Mirko Delibasich invited them to be a part of the staff here in Panama and
we arrived in 2003. They are currently the grounds keepers at the camp
property as well as supporting the programs of the local church in Chame.
