Ministry Highlight
Music - Collegians In New York, students may audition at the beginning of the fall quarter only for the Word of Life Collegians, the school’s choral group. In Florida, students are allowed to audition in the fall and winter quarters. Trios, quartets, and small group ensembles are formed from the members of the Collegians. Acceptance into the choir is determined by vocal quality and ability to read music. In Florida and Canada, students will have the opportunity to audition for our ensemble, drama groups. All New York and Florida Collegians will participate in the Christmas at the end of the fall quarter and the Easter productions at the end of the winter quarter.
Academic Highlight
Hosea: The Prophet and the Prostitute Hosea: The Prophet and the Prostitute examines one of the primary Minor Prophets in the Old Testament. The course will focus on the message of Hosea to the nation of Israel just prior to their sweeping destruction and ensuing captivity at the hands of the Assyrian army. God’s message rebukes Israel, referring to them as a prostitute for their spiritual unfaithfulness. In order to emphasize Israel’s spiritual harlotry God commands His prophet Hosea to take a prostitute to be his wife. The course will examine the nature of this marriage as it illustrates God’s unconditional love for His people and His unswerving commitment to His covenant with them. Hosea’s message calls for the people to repent of their unfaithfulness but prophesies of the nations’ coming destruction, captivity, and ultimate restoration as well.
