Dear Word of Life Family:

We are writing to share the difficult news that our dear sister, Betsi Oris (Jack Wyrtzen's daughter), unexpectedly went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 7th here in Schroon Lake. Thanks, in advance, for your loving and prayerful support of Betsi's family and friends.

  • The service will be held at the Jack Wyrtzen Center, Word of Life Bible Institute, Pottersville, on Saturday, Nov. 14, 10:00 am

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation in Betsy's name to Word of Life International Ministries, P.O. Box 600, Schroon Lake, NY 12870 or Mountainside Christian Academy, 165 US Route 9, Schroon Lake, NY 12870.

Happy Birthday Peter Dearing, 3/2/08!!!! - Posted: March 1, 2008   by Master John A Kraly - 1992 , 1993
Happy Birthday Lord Sarcasmous! Lord Sarcasmous is our LifeSabers member in the Peoples Republic of MA(WOLBI 1990, SYM/SME 1992). LifeSabers has 2 official chapters now, Christian Life Assembly, Camp Hill, PA and Lancaster County Bible Church, near Manheim, PA. The LCBC chapter has a Chapter Lead right now until there are enough for a President. The Christian Life Assembly Chapter of LifeSabers is looking for someone in the church to be the Chapter Leader. I am the founder of LifeSabers, but my duties are like "Johnny Appleseed," I visit other churches in hope of establishing other LifeSabers chapters. We have 5 more churches interested but would like the CLA and LCBC chapters to be more established before starting other chapters. ---------------------------- So far the Sci-Fi conventions that LifeSabers Fellowship has been involved with are Far Point(February), Shore Leave(July), in the Hunt Valley, Baltimore, MD areas. We are considering Balti-con at the same location over the Memorial Day weekend. This past Far Point convention LifeSabers was invited to Marcon in OH, but I would rather hit Vulkon, May 2-4 in Columbus, OH. Please pray for us, that the true FORCE is with us! Hello - Posted: February 28, 2008   by Jillian Whittaker - 2004
Hi to anyone who might remember me from the 2003-04 year! I graduated from Lancaster Bible College in May 2007 and started working at Sight and Sound Theatre two days later! That place has brought back so many memories of the shows we did as wolbi collegians in Florida. I feel bad I have not visited wolbi much but anyone can contact me thru facebook or email.

Hopeful - Posted: February 25, 2008   by Nicole and Austin Green (Davis) Green - -1 , -201
For those who don't know Austin and I suffered a miscarriage in November I was only 8 weeks but the pain of losing a child is horrible at any stage. We are happy to report that we are pregnant again and praying that god has a longer plan for this little one. I am 11 weeks as of today which is a lot further than last time!! Please pray that my body will handle this little one and that soon we will be blessed with a red headed bundle of joy.

Becky Wing - Posted: February 25, 2008   by David and Becky (Wood) Wing - 1981 , 1982
Hey, all! I was so excited to be able to post some info. I miss my WOL days. They were such a special time for me and David. Relationships are so important to me. David and I will celebrate 24 years of marriage this June. Our oldest daughter, Courtney, is married to David Winge (funny, isn't it) and lives in Indiana. She worked STC on the Ranch when she was 15. They are doing well. Our youngest, Hannah, will soon be 16 and is planning to work STC at the Inn this summer. We are so proud of her. She is homeschooling and in the 9th grade. I am babysitting two little boys that keep me busy. We have done group home work and loved that ministry, but are glad to be serving the Lord in different ways now. We are active at our church in North Charleston. If anyone is in the area, we have room for company! We would love to see you. Would love to hear from anyone. I love keeping in touch with JJ Freeman. God bless!! blwing63@hotmail.com - also have a facebook account with pictures of our family.

Pleasantly Surprised! - Posted: February 22, 2008   by Robert and Charlene Bauman - 1984
Sometimes the Lord reminds me that humility is indeed a virtue. Why in the world after wondering how I could contact old classmates would I not have realized that WOLBI would have kept up with technology? Well, it's been a long time since WOLBI but it was a blessing beyond measure! I visited the campus recently during the summer on a drive to Boston and took a side trip to good old Schroon Lake. It was, with a few exceptions, almost exactly as I remembered it. To catch up with everyone I havent talked to in almost 25 years, here's the up to date story of what's been going on here. After finishing up the tour the fall after graduation I spent the next 6 years of my life proudly serving our country and the Lord in the US Navy while living in San Diego. My personal walk suffered slightly at the beginning of my enlistment but, Lord leads us all back to His grace and love. After leaving the service I came back to Ohio and involved myself at my home church Grace Brethern in Worthington, OH and my family and I remian active in our church ministries. I started my career as a (shudder) bill collector. No, we are not all cranky and mean. Having the Lord as my example I try to "pray for" people rather than "prey on" them. In the meantime, I met my wife Charlene who through the Lord's grace has gifted us with 2 beautiful children. Shelby is now 13 and Daniel is 7. Both of them are God's precious gifts to me and we are definitely proud parents! Please if you remember me and wopuld like to rememberr the old days please contact me! Love in His grace! Phil. 3:10

Hi from Quebec! - Posted: February 21, 2008   by Jenni Moore - 1993
This year it's been already 15 years since I attended WOLBI. How time flies by!! Seems like a lifetime ago! Out of curiosity I decided to check Word of Life's website. What a wonderful discovery...I thought I'd write a little something... I'm curious to see if anyone remembers me. I only attended WOLBI for 2 quarters, I wished I could have finished my year, but sadly at that time it was financially impossible for me to continue. But it was 2 quarters that left a lifelong impact on my life! At the beginning of the year I was in South America (hey South America!!) but then got transferred in the 2nd quarter to England (because of Snow Camp). I have three beautiful children: Samuel (7yrs), Cassandra (5yrs) and our newest addition Maxime who is 8 months. Sherry Jones, Victoria Mahairas, Tori Grubb and Amy McCutcheon where are you?? If ever anyone remembers me, don't hesitate to write me an e-mail!! I'd love to hear what happened to some of the wonderful people I met!
