Dear Word of Life Family:

We are writing to share the difficult news that our dear sister, Betsi Oris (Jack Wyrtzen's daughter), unexpectedly went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 7th here in Schroon Lake. Thanks, in advance, for your loving and prayerful support of Betsi's family and friends.

We have 2 daughters from my first marriage. They are Valerie and Stacie Merkel. My first husband George Merkel died of cancer in 1987. My husband works with dementia patients and I teach preschool. We love the midwest and would love to hear from people in our area, especially those from the class of 1975.

Here's a quick update. After 5 years of marriage and lots of drifting around the planet Steve has joined the Army. He leaves Tuesday for 4 months. That leaves me at home in Lynchburg, VA with our 3 kids. Mackenzy will be 3 in December, Nathan 2 in November and Josiah just turned 1 this week. I would love to hear from any of my old friends out there! :-)

Hey there from the sunny South. It has been great reading all the names from '85. It sure would be great to have a reunion! It has been far too long since we have seen our dear friends. We are living in South Carolina. Tiny was the Southerner that was dressed up like a mummy in the winter. We have been blessed w/ 5 children. We have 3 girls and 2 boys. Their ages are; 16,11,8,7 and 18 months. Like some other friends of from the BI, God decided to have us turn 40 and have a baby. We wouldn't have it any other way. Bill is a General Manager for a scissor/sharpening company and worship/youth leader at our Church. We both stay busy w/ everyday family life along w/ extra curricular activities. I praise the Lord daily for blessing me w/ such a Godly man for a husband and father!!!

Not sure if many remember me...I look back and realize I didn't reach out and get to know alot of people that year, though I find it was one of the best experiences of my life. I live in Columbus, Ohio and am married with 5 children. I am a Realtor and really like helping people. I would like to hear from some of you and I am hoping more of us are walking with the Lord than not.

LIttle man on the way - Posted: October 17, 2007   by Maria (Young) and Roger Corley - 1991
First I'd like to say it was great to hear from some good friends through this website. My prayers go up to you all who are having a hard time. God's blessing be with you. On an awesomely exciting note i'll be a MOM Feb. 2008. I cannot wait to see my precious little dude. (Did i mention it's a BOY!) dreams do come true. My life has been very difficult and I waited many years for the Lord to turn things around. I just want anyone out there to know, if you're hopeless, b/c I was for a long time, keep trusting in God. He can make all your dreams and hopes come to pass. Sincerely Maria

Help!!! - Posted: October 16, 2007   by William and Megan (Mikolajczak) Callister - 1999 , 2002
OK, update first. My wife and I are in central PA, just north of Harrisburg. We are trying to find housing near Lancaster so I can go back to school at LBC, and finish off my degree. Does anybody know of any cheap housing in the area? I'm going back to school with a wife, a 2-yr old and another one due in February. So money is definitely going to be tight. If anybody out there knows of anything let me know, please. Thank you Kara for the info you got me. God bless, and hope all is going well for you all.

The Juice Saved My Arm - Posted: October 16, 2007   by Tim and Alicia (Gilbert) Kaufman - 1976
In 5/06, I fell from a roof and snapped my arm in half and shattered shoulder. Two surgeries and weeks of rehab, I could not lift arm and lived in pain. Took MonaVie for 7 days and WOW! My flexibility came back I'm pain free. We're excited because so many others are being helped with health issues and in another year, MV will fund our ministry, Lord willing. For info go to www.MyMonaVie.com/TimK. Am currently serving as interim worship leader at Northcliffe Baptist in Spring Hill, FL, near WOL Hudson campus. (see www.NBChurch.org). Am still HAPPILY married to Alicia and our 5 kids are growing in the Lord. To God be the glory.
