Dear Word of Life Family:

We are writing to share the difficult news that our dear sister, Betsi Oris (Jack Wyrtzen's daughter), unexpectedly went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 7th here in Schroon Lake. Please keep her children, grandchildren, and entire family in your prayers as they travel here to Schroon Lake in the coming hours and days.

Thanks, in advance, for your loving and prayerful support of Betsi's family and friends.

  • The service will be held at the Jack Wyrtzen Center, Word of Life Bible Institute, Pottersville, on Saturday, Nov. 14, 10:00 am

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation in Betsy's name to Word of Life International Ministries, P.O. Box 600, Schroon Lake, NY 12870 or Mountainside Christian Academy, 165 US Route 9, Schroon Lake, NY 12870.

Anyone have contact information on Aaron and Phoebe (Gilbert) Williams? The WOBLI alumni information is outdated and I wanted to touch base with them. Oh and Matt Matters' info would be nice too. Later. Clint

I guess I'm bi-vocational right now... - Posted: October 26, 2007   by Master John A Kraly - 1992 , 1993
I have been recommended to consider full time missionary service with LifeSabers Fellowship, my new para-church ministry. My goal is to fly across the country and help churches network the fruit(s) of contacts from Science Fiction/Media Conventions at major cities.

Answering the call - Posted: October 26, 2007   by Stephen Bollers - 1994 , 1995
I am excited to share that my wife, Audrey, and I were recently appointed as missionaries with Fellowship International Mission. We have been called to restart Grace Bible Church in Iwakuni, Japan to reach, disciple, and send men and women of the U.S. Military who are stationed there. We are in the early stages of our prefield ministry and would appreciate your prayer support. If you want to be added to our prayer partner list, email me at sbollers@fim.org. Lough Family. - Posted: October 26, 2007   by Cindy and Rob Maher (Pickering) Maher - 1994 , 1995
Hi Jodi. My name is Cindy Maher/ Pickering. I was sorry to hear about your dad. I didn't hear the whole story. Just that he had passed away. Your family for quite a few years were such a blessing to me. It will be a blessed day to see all those that have gone on before us. Where is your mother living now? Tell her I said hello and I am thinking about her. God bless you all!!! Cindy

It's been a long time - Posted: October 25, 2007   by Jodi (Lough) and Scott Ries - 1987
Hello from Indiana! It is amazing that 20 years have passed since being at WOLBI. How special it is for Scott and I to return to visit with my brother, his family and my mom living in Schroon Lake. We still hear echoes of my Dad's voice around -- and know it won't be long before we are all face to face with the Lord. It is a day we so look forward to soon! Scott and I have three children, Grace, Lauren and Jason. They are incredible kids and we are thrilled that they are ours! We hope that maybe some of you will catch us up on your lives and how the Lord has blessed you!

A Man of God needs our help! - Posted: October 24, 2007   by Paul and Ruth (Yates) Stanfield - 2000 , 2001
There is a Man of God that truly needs our help. His name is Mike Huckabee. You may wonder how he needs our help. He is running for President and needs our prayers and financial support. If you have not heard of Mike you can learn more about him at MikeHuckabee.com. But just to give you a little background on him. He grew up in a small town in Arkansas so he knows what it is like to not have much. He went own to become a Baptist preacher for 13 years. After that he served as Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas for 3 years and went on to be Governor for 10 1/2 years. We as Christians should do all that we can to put one of us in the White House. Once again a man of God needs our help. I have done what I can so far and I am asking you for you help to get him there. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. Iam4ukru@yahoo.com or leave me a message at my myspace page. www.myspace.com/paulstanfield In Christ, Paul Stanfield Kernersville, NC

Anyone know where Kari Vanoverloop, Kathy Galbraith or Steve Henton ended up? One other memory of snow camp for me being called to nurses on Monday to tell me my whole cabin went home and found out they had lice
