Betsi Oris: On to glory!

Psalm 116:15 “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.”

Dear Word of Life Family:

We are writing to share the difficult news that our dear sister, Betsi Oris (Jack Wyrtzen's daughter), unexpectedly went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 7th here in Schroon Lake. Please keep her children, grandchildren, and entire family in your prayers as they travel here to Schroon Lake in the coming hours and days.

Thanks, in advance, for your loving and prayerful support of Betsi's family and friends.

Update: Betsy Oris Service Arrangements

  • Visitation will be at Mountainside on Friday, Nov. 13, 6:00 to 8:00 pm
  • The service will be held at the Jack Wyrtzen Center, Word of Life Bible Institute, Pottersville, on Saturday, Nov. 14, 10:00 am

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation in Betsy's name to Word of Life International Ministries, P.O. Box 600, Schroon Lake, NY 12870 or Mountainside Christian Academy, 165 US Route 9, Schroon Lake, NY 12870.

Alumni Gathering in Orlando - Posted: November 3, 2007   by Jason Perkins - 2000
Last night we had a small gathering of Alumni in Orlando Florida. A great night of Basketball with the Magic and the Detroit Pistons, and approximately 3000 students from churches across Central Florida. Tom Phillips from Word of Life Florida gave the gospel presentation after the message and scores of young people accepted Christ as Savior. It was great to hear the stories of Alumni and their own Superbowl experiences along with some Alumni reminiscing about touring with Jack Wyrtzen and Harry Bollback as collegians. I am looking forward to our next gathering in Philadelphia on November 16th. Jason Perkins Alumni Ministries Coordinator

Hi everyone- I can't believe that its been so long since my time at WOL! I've been married for 6 years to a wonderful guy who loves the Lord and we have two children, Evan 2 and Cecelia 3 mo. I stay at home although I did get my degree from Ohio State in International Studies. Life here in Columbus is pretty normal although we are emerging from 2 incredible years of extreme faith-building. God has been so good to us. I miss all of my friends from WOL and think of you often- I would love to hear from you. We plan on going up with my husband's family to the Campground next August. Hope to see some of you!
